Driving done

We just arrived home. I tell you, the thought that my wheel could be waiting for me got me through the Central Valley (well, that, and the absolutely lovely blossoms and green hills all up and down the state). Alas. Still no wheel. (This just seems wrong somehow, doesn't it?)

However, Rick's socks are done and on his feet. Another pair of socks has been cast on. And I had my aunt vet the yarn that I bought to knit Icarus for her. Apparently it's more eggplant than burgundy (which is a bad thing). And so the search goes on. (But better than finding this out halfway into the shawl, no?)

We had a lovely weekend. I'll write a much longer post about it tomorrow (although, if you can believe, I took not a single picture, in spite of bringing my camera and my good intentions). We visited with Grandmom, I had a relaxing couple of hours knitting with Gwen (hi, Gwen!), and we enjoyed hanging out with Rick's aunt and uncle. So, well worth the drive. And now I'm off to be prone; after 500 miles of sitting, I'm done with verticality.

between the typo's and the spelling mistakes, sorry about that
you are right, it is just plain wrong, as in that wheel should have been there waiting when you got home, still - better to knit and knit and distract your self. I suspect a watched wheel never comes a bit like measuring after every 3rd row. Sometimes i swear the piece actually gets shorter ...

will it fit in your letterbox? or will they leave one of those notes 'while you were out', or just park it by the back door?

Perhaps today? Always hopeful.
What? No photos of lovely blossoms and green hills? :^D

So glad you had such a wonderful time and welcome home!

The wheel must be in the same circle of limbo that my knitting needles were in; I still think my big mistake lay in allowing myself to have an expectation of when they might arrive, instead of adopting an entirely open mind on the subject :) I hope it turns up soon.

Yes, verticality has its limits. Here's hoping the postal carrier/UPS driver made a stop at your house today...

I am sure it will come today--after all it's St Patrick's Day and very lucky! And my birthday--so I think the post office or UPS or Fedex or whoever should remember that and deliver it today!

No wheel? I still think it should magically appear within moments. Not that I have this thing for instant gratification......

Good thing you found out the eggplant/burgundy problem before knitting up Icarus! Although it is a pretty pattern and I love the color eggplant.....

Glad you're home safe and sound and your Grandmother's BD was a success! AND you got in some knitting time (not in a moving vehicle)

You must have had a wonderful time if you didn't get around to photos. I'm glad for you.

But I still want a photo of the socks!
