A few people asked me for the recipe to the spice cake with butternut squash that I mentioned, so I hunted it up online:

I just finished icing it and putting the candied ginger on it, and I don't know that I'm going to be able to wait until Rick gets home from his birthday mountain bike ride to dig in.
Mmm....

That looks really good :-) And the knitting you had yesterday was really pretty. I hope all of the birthday celebrations are happy and much family fun.
Take care.
Sarah

hmmmm,,,, Mazal tov to Rick :)
I wanted to ask for the recipe too and forgot, old age,,, hehehehe
Oh yum. That looks gorgeous (and yummy)!
He wouldn't notice if a little piece is missing will he? hehehe
The ginger would have disappeared off the top if it was here. Looks really delicious
I'm really happy to be eating dark chocolate and marzipan just now. My mouth has enough sweet. Phew!
Lovely cake. Celebratory!
YUMMY!
Happy Birthday Rick!
(((hugs)))
That does look really good. Thanks for the recipe!
Ooooh...you are a model of self-restraint if you managed to wait. That discipline alone should give you a free pass on the next impulse yarn purchase. =)
Happy birthday to Rick, and thanks for the recipe!
Oh yum. Here's another great recipe, if you're interested, better even than my mom's blueberry cake:

Extremely good stuff and even better the next day.
And candied ginger on the top! I love ginger. *sigh*
